Product information "Vitamin D3 600 IE"
The sun vitamin for big & small.

Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that is essential for the absorption of calcium and the normal functioning of the immune system. Especially in adults, it contributes to the maintenance of normal bone and muscle function. For children, vitamin D is important to ensure healthy growth and development of bones.

The main form of vitamin D in the human body is cholecalciferol, also known as vitamin D3. This is synthesized by the skin from cholesterol when exposed to UV-B radiation from the sun. After activation in the liver, further conversion to calcitriol occurs in the kidney.

Cholecalciferol is the precursor of active vitamin D, which plays a central role in regulating calcium and phosphate metabolism. It is used as a monopreparation for the prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency and in combination with calcium for the treatment of osteoporosis.
