Sulphur-containing amino acid for fat metabolism.
Burgerstein L-Methionine is a dietary supplement that contains 500 mg of L-methionine per tablet. This amino acid is essential and contains sulphur, which means that the body can not produce it itself, and it must therefore be ingested through food. A healthy adult needs about 13 mg / kg of body weight of methionine daily.
It is recommended to supplement between 0.5 and 3.0 grams of methionine daily.
Methionine has several beneficial effects on the body. It helps prevent the accumulation of fat in the liver and supports the regeneration of the liver and kidneys. It also has a diuretic effect and acts as an antioxidant. Methionine can detoxify or accelerate the breakdown of heavy metals such as lead, as well as histamine and ammonia. It is also necessary for the metabolism of selenium.
